Nicola came to counselling after a career as a registered massage therapist, and has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. Inspired by mind body connections in our experiences of wellness and distress, Nicola completed her Master of Counselling and graduated from the City University of Seattle in 2021 and is currently registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She has counselling experience through her practicum at Calgary Counselling Centre where she worked with adolescents, adults and seniors with experiences of depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and relationship issues. Nicola currently volunteers at the Distress Centre Calgary and the Canadian Suicide Prevention Service, where she continues to provide peer support to callers experiencing distress. She believes empowerment is integral to healthcare, utilizes trauma informed care and strengths based approaches in her practice and is training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. In her free time, Nicola enjoys spending time outdoors in the mountains and on the river.
